Setup Instructions
Invite the Bot
Use the provided invite link to add the AirPods Firmware Release Bot to your Discord server.
To invite the bot:
- Click on the invite link.
- Select the server you want to add the bot to.
- Review and approve the requested permissions.
- Complete the captcha if prompted.
- Click "Authorize" to add the bot to your server.
Set Firmware Channel
Use the command /setfirmwarechannel
to designate a channel for firmware updates.
To set the firmware channel:
- Create a new channel or choose an existing one for firmware updates.
- In any channel the bot can see, type
/setfirmwarechannel
. - Select the channel you want to use from the dropdown menu.
- Submit the command.
- The bot will confirm that the channel has been set for firmware updates.
Configure Admin Roles
Set up admin roles using the /config role
command to manage bot permissions.
To configure admin roles:
- Use the command
/config role
in any channel. - Select "Add Role" from the dropdown menu.
- Choose "Admin Commands" as the role type.
- Enter the name of the role you want to grant admin permissions to.
- The bot will confirm that the role has been added as an admin role.
Admin roles can use all bot commands, including setting up channels and changing bot settings.
Set Check Interval
Configure the update check interval with /settings set_interval [minutes]
.
To set the check interval:
- Use the command
/settings set_interval
. - Enter the desired interval in minutes (e.g., 30 for checking every 30 minutes).
- The bot will confirm the new interval setting.
Note: The minimum interval is 5 minutes, and the maximum is 60 minutes.
Optional: Outage Notifications
Set up an outage notification channel with /set_outage_channel
if desired.
To set up outage notifications:
- Create a new channel or choose an existing one for outage notifications.
- Use the command
/set_outage_channel
. - Select the channel you want to use for outage notifications.
- The bot will confirm that the outage notification channel has been set.
This channel will receive notifications if the bot experiences any downtime or issues.
